PORTLAND ART MUSEUM & GREEK WEDDING
Wedding / 5 Comments / February 21, 2019

Evie & Sean’s wedding at the Portland Art Museum and Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral was filled with an abundance of love, beauty and emotion. Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral is such a gorgeous place to get married and all the ceremony traditions are so beautiful! Evie and Sean drove away after their ceremony in the coolest Alfa Romeo to the Portland Art Museum. Everyone was dressed to the nines and looked gorgeous! The table centerpieces were so unique and personal – on each table was a little description of the fig tree that read, “This fig tree has been cultivated with love, please bring it home. In the 1960s, Evie’s Grandfather, Pappou Sotiris, brought a cutting of a fig tree inside of a shoe box from his village, Plataies, Greece to Portland; however, upon arrival, US Border Patrol quarantined the plant material, after certification and release, it was planted in his home in the SW Hills of Portland. Years later the tree was transplanted in Dalton and Keti’s yard, where it continues to thrive. In a small way to honor Pappou’s memory, we rooted cuttings earlier this year to share as centerpieces tonight.” The evening was filled with the liveliest Greek dancing and so much merriment! I’m so happy for Evie & Sean, and adored all their beautiful family and friends.
