Before wedding season kicked off this year, Aaron and I decided to take our annual trip to the Southwest this year! We flew into Albuquerque, rented a car, and drove our way through some magnificent sites through New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, and Arizona! It’s such an amazing part of the country, and I know we barely scratched the surface. A trip back one day will be in order to catch all the other wonderful spots we missed. The scenery was incredible! I couldn’t take enough photos of all the spectacular rock formations, it’s unlike anything I’ve seen before. The sky was so blue, the sun was shining, and the food was so good! Some of my favorite cities/sites were White Sands, Santa Fe, Taos, Ghost Ranch, Valley of the Gods, Monument Valley, Sedona, and of course, the Grand Canyon!

When Ashley Forette, told me about her photoshoot idea, I was excited! I didn’t really realize though how much splashing would really happen! It was a blast! Ashley Forette, Bryan Rupp, Aaron Courter, Ryan Wilcox, Emily G, and Heather Espana all got together, brought a gallon of water each, and went to town! I love these guys!

{ happy persian new year }

Happy Persian New Year! I’m in San Francisco visiting my family to celebrate! The Persian New Year always comes at the spring equinox and we decorate a traditional table with a collection of things that represent the holiday.

Here’s what these items represent,
Wheat and lentil sprouts = rebirth
Dried fruit of an oleaster tree = love
Garlic = medicine
Apple = health and beauty
Sumac berries = color of sunrise
Coins = wealth
Sweet wheat pudding = affluence
Lit candles = enlightenment and happiness
Mirror = cleanliness and honesty
Decorated eggs = fertility
Bowl of water with goldfish = life within life
Hyacinth = plant life
{ portland photo scout, multnomah village }
Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011
Ashley Forrette, a spectacular wedding photographer in Portland, and I, scouted around Multnomah Village for a little photo inspiration and fun! One shop owner was happy to share some nooks and crannies that his shop held. Vintage frames, old books, and art was all around us. We had a blast!
I started a personal 365 project a little over two weeks ago. My plan is to take at least a photo a day for myself. And I’m loving it! I’m posting those photos on my flickr site. I’ve been really excited about this new photo project!

My little sister and I were passing ships through Portland – I was on my way out of town and she was coming in! We had a good part of the day to hang out together, eat good food, and of course, take pictures!

{ rose festival, portland }
Wednesday, June 9th, 2010
Aaron and I went down to the Rose Festival to support a friend who was part of the BBQ Competition! There was lots of good food in exchange for your tokens! The ferris wheel is my favorite part of the Rose Fest and I can’t get enough pictures of it!
